Scholars Against the War on Palestine
A transnational, cross-disciplinary coalition of faculty, students, and researchers working to end the Israeli war on Palestine
SAWP Statement
Scholars Against the War on Palestine (SAWP) is a broad transnational coalition that brings together faculty, students, and researchers across disciplines in a campaign to end the Israeli war on Palestine. As scholars representing the Social Sciences, Humanities, STEM, Medicine, and Law, we recognize that Israel’s war on Gaza follows the longest siege in history and is rooted in more than a century of settler colonialism, occupation, and apartheid across Palestine.
Heeding the Palestinian call for “the academic world to take urgent action to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza,” SAWP makes the following demand: immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire and the lifting of the siege on Gaza.
We stand firmly with the Palestinian struggle for liberation and justice.
